Information clause

Please be informed that:

1. The administrator of your personal data is the Silesian Library in Katowice (plac Rady Europy 1, 40-021 Katowice), tel. +48 32 20 83 875, e-mail address: bsl@bs.katowice.pl, which is the organizational coordinator of the Agreement on the co-creation of the Silesian Digital Library (hereinafter: SDL).

2. Your personal data will be processed for the purposes of:

(a) providing access to the collection (legal basis Article 4 of the Act of June 27, 1997 on libraries; i.e. Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1479, as amended);

(b) the necessity of processing the data for the provision of services (in particular, users who have SDL account and provided a user name and email address during registration). This data may constitute personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 (1) of the GDPR Regulation. The legal basis in this case is Article 18 of the Act of July 18, 2002 on the provision of electronic services; i.e. Dz. U. 2020, item 344, as amended;

(c) to respond to inquiries made by electronic means. The legal basis is the voluntary consent (Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR) on the basis of which you provided your email address in the contact form.

3. Provision of data (username, e-mail address) is mandatory if you want to have SDL account and refusal to provide them will result in the inability to create an account. Providing your e-mail address is necessary in order to send you a message through the contact form.

4. Your personal data are not subject to automated decision-making, including profiling. They may be shared with entities providing programming and IT services. Data may also be shared with institutions authorized by law.

5. You have the right of access to the content of your personal data, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, the right to data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the legality of the processing performed on the basis of consent before its withdrawal. 6. You have the right to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority (President of the Office for Personal Data Protection).

7. You have the option at any time to delete your SDL account on your own, and thus the data entered during registration. Personal data processed in contact forms are deleted after the case is completed.

The above information clause is in accordance with Article 13 (1) and (2) of the Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union of April 27, 2016. (GDPR).

Additional Google Analytics services

In addition, the Silesian Digital Library website uses the following additional functions offered by Google Analytics, through which additive demographic statistics and interest reports are available:

  •  Google Analytics features that have been implemented on the basis of display advertising (e.g. remarketing, Google ad network impression reports, integration of the DoubleClick Campaign Manager tool or Google Analytics interest and demographic reports).

The ability for users to opt-out of Google Analytics for display ads and customize ads in the Google ad network is available through Ads Settings.
